Geothermal and Air to Water Heat Pumps
Heat Energy is widely available in the ground, air and water around your house. These natural sources of heat are constantly replenished by the sun, wind and rain. A heat pump system will harness these free and renewable energy sources to heat your home and supply hot water at a very low cost. The role of the heat pump is to 'pump up' heat from a low temperature source (e.g. the ground or the air) and release it at a higher temperature into your central heating system.
The cost saving of a heat pump over a traditional oil or gas system can be substantial over its life time. Please read our savings page to see how you can reduce your heating bills by anything up to 1 third of what they currently are!
Why Pure Energy?
Having fitted in excess of 200 heatpump based systems, Pure Energy Technology has a proven track record of supplying working and efficient systems. With quality German products, a developed service and support network and skilled labour force we have shown time and time again that we always deliver.
Our heatpumps are sourced in Germany, from Dimplex, a household name and a company that has a proven track record. Backed up by “Grundfos” circulation pumps, brass fittings, stainless steel manifolds and top quality filter valves and air separators we have put together a system that not only looks good but is built to last.

AIR SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
- Even cold air is full of energy and Dimplex air source heat pumps use the freely available heat in the ambient air to provide efficient heating at air temperatures as low as -20°C.
Air source heat pumps provide significant installation cost benefits over ground source systems. They are also cheaper to install as there are no requirements for expensive ground loops to be installed. - Air source heat pumps can provide 100% of your heating requirement down to air temperatures as low as 0°C, and are easily boosted for the few days of the year when temperatures fall consistently below this level.
- An air-source heat pump can provide efficient heating for your home, especially if you live in a mild climate. When properly installed, an air-source heat pump can deliver up to four times more heat energy to a home compared to the electrical energy it consumes. This is possible because a heat pump moves heat rather than converting it from a fuel, like in combustion heating systems.

GROUND SOURCE HEAT PUMPS
- Our ground source heat pumps draw heat from solar energy stored in the earth.
- Ground collectors consisting of flexible polyethylene pipes are buried in the ground, horizontally or vertically, and a mixture of water and anti-freeze is circulated through the pipe loops
- If the installation area is large enough, horizontal ground collectors can be used.
- If land space is limited the collector can be installed vertically in a borehole, drilled up to 100m deep into the ground.
- Due to the consistency of ground temperatures below surface level, ground source heat pumps provide high levels of efficiency all year round.
